LeBron Will Be Hosting the ESPY Awards

It turns out that LeBron James will have to leave his home for at least one occasion: he's going to be co-hosting (alongside Jimmy Kimmel) the ESPY Awards in July. James becomes only the second athlete (the first being Lance Armstrong) to host the program.

This Global Icon thing is really coming along nicely for LeBron, isn't it?

Though I have my doubts about LeBron's ability to spend an entire evening telling jokes, he does sound excited about the opportunity and I wish him well.
"I'm really looking forward to it," James told The Associated Press. "It's going to be a lot of fun and a chance to get out there and crack some jokes along with Jimmy. The ESPYs have always been very good to me."
I've never watched the ESPY's, but from everything that I've heard, it's not exactly riveting television. In fact, Jimmy Kimmel may have already told the show's lone half-decent joke when asked about co-hosting.
"I am delighted to have been asked to host the 2007 ESPYs, but as a father, it is especially exciting to be asked to host with my son LeBron," Kimmel said.
The 15th annual ESPY Awards will be broadcast on July 15 at 9 p.m. ET from Hollywood's Kodak Theatre.
